    Free Danish courses for internationals in higher education

    We offer the free certified Danish Education to all international students and international staff and accompanying partners. 

    Our courses provide a high level of expertise and are tailored to accomodate the participants’ needs for flexibility and efficiency.

    Are you an employee at a company in Aarhus we can teach you Danish according to a special agreement with your company.

    For all internationals we offer intensive one-on-one tuition. 

    Danish Online Combi

    Learn Danish with Danish Online Combi if you are highly educated or a student in higher education.

    With Danish Online Combi, you join a smaller, closed class where you meet virtually once a week with your teacher and fellow students at the same level as you. In addition, you follow a flexible self-study program with individual feedback from your teacher.

    The teaching is tailored to your needs and concludes with a test at the end of the semester.

    Through our dynamic online courses, you will gain language skills and an understanding of Danish culture and society, which will help you in your daily life in Denmark and with your future career in Denmark.

    You will get:

    • individualized and highly communicative content in a flexible and varied program
    • teaching in a smaller, closed group
    • online tutorials with self-study, where you can immerse yourself and practice your language skills whenever and wherever you want
    • individual feedback from your teacher
    • the opportunity for individual guidance with Sprogcenter Midt’s counsellor

    • Before you start

      Before you can start at Danish Online Combi, you must take an interview with our counsellor. The interview will be online or at our department in Skanderborg. Our counsellor will inform you about the Danish Education and place you at the education and class that matches your level and goals. We will also inform you about our digital learning platform and apps.

      If you have lived in Denmark for less than 5 years, Danish lessons might be free for you, Read more here. Prior to the interview, we will clarify whether you can have the Danish lessons paid for by your municipality.

      If you are entitled to free Danish lessons, you only need to pay a deposit of DKK 2,000 before starting class. You can get the deposit back if you pass your module test within a certain time frame. Read more about deposit here.

    • About tuition

      In Dansk Online Combi, you meet online once a week with your teacher and fellow students. The teaching is flexible and personalized.

      You will receive:

      • A small class
      • Strong communicative content with a good variety of task types
      • A self-study program to complement the lessons
      • Continuous feedback from your teacher
      • Experienced teachers
      • Access to our online platform, Microsoft Teams

      The course concludes with a module test at the end of the semester.

    Courses for international AU staff and accompanying partners

    In cooperation with Aarhus University, we offer free Danish courses for international AU staff and accompanying partners.

    We are specialized in teaching Danish as a second language to highly educated professionals. Our courses provide a high level of expertise and are tailored to accomodate the participants’ needs for flexibility and efficiency.

    Our courses are held at Aarhus University or online. 

    With our courses in the state-guaranteed Danish education, you achieve language skills and an understanding of Danish culture and society which opens up opportunities in your social and professional life and makes you feel more at home in Denmark.

    • Danish Online Combi
      Danish Online Combi is for internationals in higher education. You will join a small class where you meet virtually with your teacher and fellow students at your level once a week. In addition, you follow a flexible self-study program with individual feedback from your teacher.

      An introduction to the Danish language, gain indispensable knowledge about Danish culture and values, and get useful tips and tricks on what you can do to make you feel at home in Denmark.

    Please notice
    You can take part in our courses for free (KickStart excluded) if you hold a Danish cpr.no and are eligible to have your Danish education paid by your muncipality. We will assist you in determining whether you are eligible for free education. Read more here.

    If you meet the above requirements, you only need to pay a deposit of DKK 2,000, which is payable upon registration. You will have your deposit refunded, if you pass your module test within the specified timeframe. Read more here.

      Prior to the start of the course, you must download the apps you will use in class. We will send you your personal login details for our digital learning platform and apps a few days before the course starts.

    One-on-one tuition

    Do you want to work intensively with your personal language challenges? We offer one-on-one tuition, where you yourself agree on the content, methods and time of the tuition with the teacher.

    With one-on-one tuition, you can get focused support from a teacher so that you can improve your personal language goals. 

    One-on-one tuition is well suited to you who want to prepare yourself linguistically in an intensive way. 

    There is great flexibility in the teaching and in its organisation. You and the teacher agree the details regarding where and when. The teaching can also be organized as a blended course or as 100% online. When you have tasks, exercises and videos that you can access online, you can work independently when it suits you and get continuous feedback from your teacher.

    • You will learn

      At one-on-one lessons, you agree with the teacher yourself what you specifically want to focus on. The theme of the teaching can be pronunciation, sentence construction and grammar, precision in work emails, nuanced vocabulary for certain situations, communication with customers and much more. You get continuous feedback and tools to practice your language goals in everyday life.

      We recommend that you make an agreement with a friend or colleague to help you practice the language you have learned. By practicing with a partner, you can also get input on how you can continue to set new goals for yourself.

    • Before you start

      Before starting the teaching, you meet with our company consultant and possibly your future teacher. At the meeting, we settle on the goals for the course and the practical organization.

      A course is basically 8-20 lessons, depending on your goals and wishes.

      After the meeting, we make a contract with details such as price, period and organization.

      Upon evaluation 1-2 weeks before the period expires, we make further agreements if you wish to prolong the contract.
