Free Danish courses in cooperation with Aarhus University
In cooperation with Aarhus University, we offer free Danish courses to all international students and all international staff and accompanying partners.
All our courses give you flexibility, efficiency and a social appreciative learning environment, so you can learn Danish your way with our support.
Are you an employee at a company in Aarhus we can teach you Danish according to a special agreement with your company.
For all internationals we offer intensive one-on-one tuition.
Courses at Studenterhus Aarhus
In cooperation with Studenterhus Aarhus, we teach international at Aarhus University.
The lively and young environment in Studenterhus Aarhus provides a perfect frame for learning and using Danish. It makes it possible for you to learn Danish while you are a student and also have many other obligations.
We teach you Danish which you can use at work and in leisure. We know that Danish language opens up doors to the Danish society and a further career in Denmark.
With our courses, you achieve language skills and an understanding of Danish culture and society which help you in your new life and your prospective career in Denmark.
We offer you blended Danish courses because we are convinced that it is the best way to learn a new language in a busy life with many other obligations. With our blended courses, you get the right combination of:
- teaching in a group with fellow students, where you can develop your language skills in a positive and social appreciative environment
- online tutorials with self-studies, where you can immerse yourself and train your language skills whenever and wherever you want
- individual feedback from your teacher
Take part in our courses for free if you have a Danish cpr.no and are eligible to have your Danish education paid by your muncipality. Read more here.
You must pay a deposit of DKK 2,000. You can get your deposit back if you pass your module test within the specified time frame. Read more here.
We offer Combi courses at 5 levels. If you have any doubt which level to register to, please check the CEFR levels or contact our counsellor Anne Skjoldan.
You can only register for our Combi courses, if you can document your association with Aarhus University. To complete your registration, please send a copy of your enrollment letter as a photo or a pdf to gitte.k@sprogcentermidt.dk.

We refer to Danish OnlineIn our courses, you attend 3 lessons of in-class teaching once a week and have 3 lessons of online tutorials with self-study during the week, when and where it suits you. Online self-study is necessary to be able to keep up with in-class teaching. Our ambitious and professional teachers meet your language needs through frequent feedback, both online and in in-class teaching.
In in-class teaching, you can:
- Learn new language through fun and engaging methods
- Train your oral skills and get feedback on pronunciation
- Meet, collaborate with and share ideas with other students at the same level as yourself
In online tutorials you can:
- See your lesson plan, instructional videos and assignments for each lesson
- Upload the week’s assignment and get individual feedback from your teacher
- Access a large selection of additional material and relevant links
There is a mandatory module test at the end of each course.

Prior to the start of the course, you must download the apps you will use in class. We will send you your personal login details for the digital learning platform and apps a few days before the course starts.

Courses for international AU staff and accompanying partners
In cooperation with Aarhus University, we offer free Danish courses for international AU staff and accompanying partners.
We are specialized in teaching Danish as a second language to highly educated professionals. Based on our experience, we have developed tailored courses to meet your needs for flexibility, efficiency and a socially appreciative learning environment.
Our courses are held at Aarhus University or online.
With our courses in the state-guaranteed Danish education you achieve language skills and an understanding of Danish culture and society which opens up opportunities in your social and professional life and makes you feel more at home in Denmark.
We offer a variety of courses:
- Day and afternoon courses exclusively for AU staff and their accompanying partners
Learn Danish in smaller classes at AU campus.
With continuous admission, so you can start whenever it suits you.

You can take part in our courses for free if you have a Danish cpr.no and are eligible to have your Danish education paid by your muncipality. We will assist you in determining whether you are eligible for free education. Read more here.
If you meet the above requirements, you only need to pay a deposit of DKK 2,000, which is payable upon registration. You will have your deposit refunded, if you pass your module test within the specified timeframe. Read more here.

Courses for students at The Royal Academy of Music
In cooperation with The Royal Academy of Music, we teach international students from the Academy.
We teach you Danish which you can use at work and in leisure. We know that Danish language opens up doors to the Danish society and a further career in Denmark.
We offer you Danish Online because we are convinced that it is the best way to start learning a new language in a busy life with many other obligations. Danish Online gives you language skills and an understanding of Danish culture, which opens up opportunities for your life in Denmark.
Danish Online is 100% online, and you have tuition, feedback and support from the teacher on a weekly basis. Each week, you do your homework and prepare for the next lessons. Your teacher will guide you all the way and will give you verbal and written feedback. You also have an online community of fellow learners of Danish. Together, you learn about the structures of the language, and you practise and improve your Danish skills.
You get access to our digital learning platform, where you receive and submit assignments and get feedback from your teacher. Here you can also access videos, teaching material, extra exercises, links and audio files which are adapted to your level.

Level Start End Deadline Registration Danish Online - Beginners level Week 39, 2024 Week 50, 2024 8 September 2024 Register With Danish Online, you meet online each week with your teacher and fellow students. The virtuel class is on computer only and therefore you must have a computer available and preferably a headset with a microphone. During the week, you must do exercises and prepare for the next lessons.

Prior to the first online meeting, your teacher will send you an email with an invitation to the meeting. At the meeting, you will get an introduction to our digital learning platform and your teaching plan.

One-on-one tuition
Do you want to work intensively with your personal language challenges? We offer one-on-one tuition, where you yourself agree on the content, methods and time of the tuition with the teacher.
With one-on-one tuition, you can get focused support from a teacher so that you can improve your personal language goals.
One-on-one tuition is well suited to you who want to prepare yourself linguistically in an intensive way.
There is great flexibility in the teaching and in its organisation. You and the teacher agree the details regarding where and when. The teaching can also be organized as a blended course or as 100% online. When you have tasks, exercises and videos that you can access online, you can work independently when it suits you and get continuous feedback from your teacher.
Price, place and time are agreed before starting.
