    In the heart of Skanderborg

    Our department in Skanderborg is located in the northern part of the city of Skanderborg, just opposite Fælleden and next to SOSU East Jutland.

    We are located in a former production building which has now been converted into an innovative and sustainable language school with spacious and modern teaching facilities. The building won the Skanderborg Architecture Prize in 2016, and when you enter the building you will discover that it is designed as a small town with streets and squares.

    You will be warmly received in our reception, which is located on the central square, and by our student counsellor who has an office on the balcony above the square. Your student counsellor will help you sign up for the right course and get started. We have ongoing admissions so you can start when it suits you.

    We emphasize that you learn the Danish you need in your daily life and that you become part of our welcoming social community.

    Courses

    In Skanderborg, you can participate in courses in the daytime and in the evenings.

    Evening 17:00-19:50 (FVU 17:00-20:15)

    We offer

    In Skanderborg, we offer Danish lessons on all Danish educations (DU1, DU2 and DU3) in daytime and evening. We also offer FVU Danish, FVU mathematics, and FVU digital.

    Voluntary conversation partner

    We have volunteers contributing to our department in Skanderborg. They are always ready to help you practise your oral Danish skills.

    You can also get help with everyday tasks.

    Practise your oral Danish skills

    Depending on your level, you can talk to a volunteer about Danish culture and society, everyday life and other topics that interest you both.

    The volunteers are available at the following times:

    • Tuesday to Friday in the Study Center
    • Tuesday and Thursday evenings

    The volunteers are organized under the Danish Refugee Council and are part of the volunteer group in Skanderborg.

    Everyday guidance service

    Every Tuesday from 14:30 to 16:30, you can receive free assistance with:

    • understanding letters from the municipality, tax authorities, healthcare system, etc.
    • using MitID, e-Boks, Rejsekort, borger.dk, and more
    • filling out forms
    • applying for housing benefits and other types of support
    • applying for a passport
    • many other things.

    The volunteers are organized under the DRC Danish Refugee Council’s everyday guidance service.
