Through intensive Danish classes, the programme offers you an opportunity to obtain oral and written skills as well as a fundamental understanding of Danish society and culture.
Our Summer Language Course addresses international students, who are already enrolled or meets the requirements to enroll at a university.
Danish classes will be organized around a weekly theme relevant for Danish Culture and Society.
The three key themes for the summer language course are:
Activities in afternoons and evenings will provide participants with experience, knowledge and background understanding of the key themes.
Sprogcenter Midt is located in Horsens which is a city with a population of app 60.000 citizens. It was a significant city in the Middle Ages with numerous monasteries and fortresses. Today, the city is in a development phase with new industry moving to the urban area or expanding already existing activities.
Horsens´ location by the fjord and a short distance to many different sights make the city ideal for a visit.

Students already enrolled at an institution of Higher Education can apply for scholarship under the Cultural Agreements programme which is provided by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Students applying for scholarship should have the knowledge of Danish language equivalent to either beginners, A1 or A2. Beginners class only available with the required number of students. Also, an English level at a minimum of B2 is required.

There is a limited number of scholarships. The selection of candidates is done according to the following criteria.
Students with scholarship will be accommodated with host families in Horsens or surroundings.
The host family will provide daily meals unless something else is agreed. Host families will pick up students at arrival to Horsens.
You apply for scholarship here before March 1, 2020.
Tuition fee will be charged when applying for the course.

The price for the summer language course is EUR 990 and includes teaching and cultural and social activities. Accommodation and meals are not included in the tuition fee.
If you are unable to attend the course, you will be refunded if you notify us before June 1, 2020.
If the beginners classes are not set up due to lack of participants, you will be refunded no matter what.

Duration and dates

Cultural and social activities

Identification of individual and collective goals, which will be reached through active participation in dialogues, group work, workshops as well as individual exercises. Feedback will be given after student presentation of an aspect of the key theme of the week. Read more
Level of Danish classes
Beginners, A1 and A2.
Documentation of participants’ Danish level is requested before enrollment.
